Letters Choreography

The series of artworks entitled "Choreography of the letter" harmoniously blends the graceful movements of the Arabic letter with the richness of its geometric form in Arabic calligraphy. Each composition attempts to translate line into rhythm and fluidity into movement. The result is a visual synergy and a ballet of calligraphic forms.

"Apprehend the silence, the rustle of the 'Qalam' proclaiming its melody, like an interior psalmody.

Throw away the ink, follow the waves and let yourself be carried away by an inner diction. Each letter has its own music. Hearing and vibrating. Like strings under a musician's fingers."

Between 'Kâf' & 'Nûn'

All it takes is two letters, Kâf and Nûn, to form the Arabic word for "being" (Kun).

But between the two letters lie Lâm (L), Mîm (M) and a multitude of states of being, like a kind of echo in perpetual motion.

Kâf (K) : Twenty-second letter of the Arabic alphabet, uvular, Kâf corresponds to the 'k' sound. It symbolizes the verb of creation: kun.

Lâm (L): Twenty-third letter of the Arabic alphabet, lingual, Lâm corresponds to the 'l' sound. It symbolizes the perfection of understanding.

Mîm (M): Twenty-fourth letter of the Arabic alphabet, labial, Mîm corresponds to the 'm' sound. It symbolizes the duality of "the power of matter - the power of God".

Nûn (N) : Twenty-fifth letter of the Arabic alphabet, lingual, Nûn corresponds to the 'n' sound and is the letter of Calligraphers.

Between Echo & Resonance

In the "Echo & Resonance" series, the Arabic letter forms the central architecture of the canvas through its rhythm, movement and geometric form.

The series revolves around the choreography of the Arabic letter, as sign or symbol, in movement, repetition, alone or intertwined. Letters like echoes that spring forth and resonate in a form of visual sonata.

"To approach silence and echo it. Apprehend the breath and abandon yourself to the depths. Let yourself be carried away by the trace of letters, until you become their extension.

A graphic resonance, an echo visible to the eye."
